About Revue Gouvernance

Revue gouvernance was founded in the late 90s by Wilson Saintelmy, who then graciously turned it over to the Centre on Governance. It is now published through financial support from the Centre on Governance and the Canada Research Chair in Governance and Public Administration, both of which are at the University of Ottawa.

Revue gouvernance is a bilingual electronic refereed journal that publishes theoretical, empirical and critical articles that address one or more aspects of public, private and social governance in Canada, Quebec and elsewhere in the world.

This interdisciplinary and multi-methodological journal publishes articles from every epistemological and ontological perspective, with a view not only to making a constructive and normative contribution to our knowledge of governance, but also to fuel public debate on the challenges and issues bound up in the contemporary exercise of governance.

It complements optimumonline: both journals publish papers in English and French, but whereas optimumonline is an issue-based journal, a who-what-where-when journal, Revue gouvernance is an explanation-based journal, a why-how journal.

Revue gouvernance is open to publishing special issues about a particular topic related to governance, or topics that address governance in a specific region. Anyone interested in suggesting a special issue should contact the editor. I hope you enjoy Revue gouvernance.
